Sir Remiu traveled Hutop for a legal proceeding. He was up against Ognishka. He was defending Jav-Onn of Clures, an individual who has been in Kaldor’s prison and has been suspected of worshiping Naveh. The mootcourt that was to be held in Hutop Castle, was moved to outdoors. There was not enough room for everyone to sit and watch this spectacle. The family of Jav-Onn was also at hand to watch momentous event.
The proceeding began with a surprise. Ognishka started by trying to sway the Judge to agree to the facts Sir Remiu had stated in his motion. This was strange because the High Guard who was responsible for this proceeding was present in the mootcourt. This meant something was amiss. A seasoned litigant, Sir Remiu immediately picked on the Kingdom’s weakness. Ognishka did not want the High Guard to testify. Sir Remiu called for Court’s magician. The magician conjured up the images from the time of arrest (of Jav-Onn) and showed them to the Judge, and Judge only. The images showed four High Guardsmen taking Jav-Onn from his ox-driven cart and taking him down. The they tie him up, beat him and place Jav-onn in their iron-wagon. Sir Remiu asked the Court to have High Guard that was in Court to testify.
Then the Judge asked Ognishka to bring forth the High Guard in the Court. She started stumbling her words. As the High Guard testified, there were errors in his statement. The Judge noticed these inconsisties. Then Sir Remiu started cross-examining and the Guard Ognishka got more frustrated. The more she talked the less credible she sounded. Then the Gods intervened. It started to rain. But the interrogation, cross-examination, and yelling continued. A small tent was erected over the Judge. The litigants were soaked and muddied, Sir Remiu more so than Ognishka since he was active. The number of spectators increase, in lieu of the rain.
After five hours, the proceeding finally came to a conclusion. The Judge had heard enough. He questioned the High Guard about his actions and Ognishka tried to justify his action. The Judge said: “These behaviors are un-Kaldorian-like. Jav-Onn has done nothing wrong.” He pointed to the three court bailiffs and told them to release Jav-Onn. the he turned to Sir Remiu and said: “Well done Sir Remiu, well done. You have once again upheld the chivalry code and made Larani proud. May Larani bless you with her wisdom.” Then the crowd cheered, well most of them.
Afterwards, Sir Remiu got on his warhorse Altima and started heading back to Nebulian Chapterhosue. Once again, Sir Remiu was victorious.
